First Grade here I come

Her first year of all day school. She was a little nervous but a lot excited. She walked right into her class and started looking for her seat, the teacher was pleasantly surprised to discover she wasn't shy and was comfortable just walking right in and getting started.

My third grader

I was lucky to be able to even get this picture. He didn't want me to walk him to his class and the only reason he let me was because he couldn't remember who his teacher was :). He was way excited. He sat right down and got started. They grow up so fast.

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school. They grow up so fast.

Jackson Hole Reunion

After 2 years of planning and lots of stressing (on my part) the 2009 Strong Family reunion took place. We stayed at Grand Targhee Resort and went rafting in Jackson Hole. It was a great time and everything went well. It was nice to see my hard work and planning pay off. What a great family.

Lava Hot Springs

We went to Lava Hot Springs with the Strand family this past weekend (June 18-20). It was a ton of fun and Austin was VERY excited to be tall enough to ride the "really tall, really fast" slides. Trinity wasn't tall enough, but spent plenty of time on the other slides (that I thought were just as much fun if not funner). Good time, great family and luckily at least one good day of weather.
Unfortunately on the way home one of the transmission lines rubbed against another line and it created a hole, we lost all of our transmission fluid and ended up on the side of the road (we were pulling the trailer in the fast lane going 75 when it went). Luckily Jeremy is mechanically inclined and he was able to cut the line and repair it, (in the pouring rain, covered in oil and leaking transmission fluid) while I hitchhiked down to the local truck stop in Ogden and got more transmission fluid.
Talk about an adventure. But we got it fixed, got back on the road and made it home in time to visit friends.

Trinity loses her first tooth

Trinity finally lost her first tooth. That tooth was loose for over a month and it took all we had to talk her into letting us pull it out. Jeremy tried wiggling it out, then Austin. I tried several times, we tried an apple, string on the door knob and FINALLY I was able to pull it out. She did a lot of crying (throughout the whole process) but was giddy when it finally pulled out. Too funny!
Austin lost a tooth that day to, so the tooth fairy played double duty :)

Cub Scout Salute

Bobcat

Austin got his bobcat award yesterday. He was so excited. When we were heading home he said "My Dad is going to be SO proud of me". It was cute. He called him as soon as we got home to tell him.

This is the Sea of trailers you could see from the hill. There were a lot of people there for memorial day.

We hit the sand dunes again this weekend. We love this place, especially when the weather isn't too cold or too hot. Jeremy has been prepping his four wheelers for a long time trying to get them ready to race this weekend. He beat all of the other four strokes except one by K&T performance, that tool king of the hill against everything there. It was great.

Herron Family Picture

Finally Reunited

It took almost three years but the kids were finally reunited!
These four cousins formed an unbreakable attachment for each other from the time they were young and became the best of friends. However due to a conflict amongst parents and a lot of hard feelings the kids were not able to see each other for almost three years. Now after waiting for a VERY LONG time, the kids were able to see each other and play. They caught up fast and before you knew it it was like no time had passed at all. It was such an emotional moment. I have missed my neice and nephew SO much and I am so happy they are back in our lives. There isn't anything on earth that will take them back out again. This was a great day for the Herron Family.

It was finally warm enough to get our boat out. We took it out Sunday for a quick spin to make sure everything was working and to just be able to hand out and catch some sun :) How relaxing :)
The kids had SO much fun running their hands through the spray on the side of the boat as we went.

This is another run we made on the rhino back in the sand dunes, you can hear Trinity laughing in the background on some of it.

Sand Dunes Roller Coaster

This is us riding some of the bowls at the sand dunes. We got lucky because it had rained the day before and so the sand was hard enough that we were able to ride a lot better on the rhine than normal. We had a ton of fun and Trinity and Austin were laughing SO hard I thought they were going to pee their pants.

The hike was as good as the fossils

Austin and Grandma Amy - Fossil Hunter and Mr Hiker

King of the mountain (Fossil Hunting)

Fossil Hunting

Jeremy's mom came up this past month and we decided to go Fossil Hunting (she used to be an Archaeologist so she knows what rock formations to look for). We had a great time hiking up the mountain and finding horn shells in the rocks. (the picture of the rock has fossils all over it). The kids also quickly discovered the lizards and were on the hunt. (Trinity is holding one lizard we caught.)

Why I joined the healthy habits competition

I started going to the gym and exercising with my husband about this same time last year. The thing with him is that when he does something he does it 110% so we went straight from getting a gym membership to learning everything you ever wanted to know about getting in shape and more. We did really well cutting out treats and eating better and of course hitting the gym 4-5 days a week. Some of the unwanted body fat came off (I am trying to lose body fat, not weight necessarily) and my muscles started to get defined. I have arms now!!! Not just the sticks I had before. (I honestly didn't think this was an accomplishable goal). But over the last couple months I have hit a plateau and to be honest I am not sure where I want to go. So.... with no goals in mind I find myself cheating and not doing as well as I once did. So I joined my sisters Healthy Habits competition....
I won't go into all the rules and definitions other than to say I have to eat healthy every day, exercise every day, get 7 hours of sleep a night and meet a personal goal. I am excited to jump off this plateau and find a new, well rounded me :)
